As can be seen in the video above, our robot meets all of the design specifications which we initially established. The bridge and hat assemblies transport the payload over a search grid predefined in our code and the FLIROne/ iPhone payload collects and analyzes the thermal data.

What's going on? For demonstrative purposes, a cup of hot water serves as the hot object. Initializing the iPhone app begins the scan sequence which consists of the payload traversing an S-shaped path. At each of 16 distinct sector locations, the infrared camera takes a picture and stores the location of the hottest pixel in that image. After completing its scan, the phone determines the location of the hottest pixel across all the collected frames and computes a return path to deliver the payload to that spot.
